Imagine

I imagine waking up to the sound of children waking up, getting ready for school. Obviously, I picture myself waking up late, having to hurry up and get ready to leave for work. But I wouldn't be worried, because I know that my wife would have prepared my clothes, neatly laid out on the bed, or maybe some bedroom couch.

I imagine eating breakfast, bacon and eggs, maybe cereal for the kids (and for me too, really). I would either take the kids to school, or maybe my wife, depending on the actual work situation, or possibly even a driver, who knows. When work finishes, I expect to rush back home and relax.

I imagine arriving home, maybe watch TV, or play with my 2 year old kid, if there is one, and just relax while waiting for dinner. I imagine a home-cooked meal, could be chicken curry, or adobo, or what not, just not some fast food or microwave dinner. If time permits, the family would be having dinner together, discussing their day, complaining about bosses, teachers, maybe celebrating accomplishments and just bonding.

I imagine getting ready for bed, maybe I had to clean the dishes, maybe there was a helper who would do it for us, but regardless, it would be fine. I imagine taking a hot bath, maybe with my wife, and just enjoy a relaxing time together as we get ready for bed. The day ends, and we sleep, looking forward to the next day.

I imagine a simple, comfortable life. I don't need luxuries, I need comfort. As long as my family gets what they need, some of what they want, never needing anything from anyone, I'd be a happy man.

And I can imagine all these with you.

Happy Valentine's Day hun! I've had my shortcomings, I know, but maybe I'll get better. I know I'll always try to be.
